Reflection: The Sunrise
The sun rises faithfully - the fulfillment of a contract I did not make with terms and conditions I have not read.
But darkness gives way to light.
A rose quartz horizon illuminates a cyan sky where once there was only charcoal and shadow, graphite and smoke.
Even in the language of the dawn there is beauty, hope, where the night has been coldly resolute.
And in this I see God. Faithful. Great.
Every day his mercies are new.
And they are unstoppable.
The darkness cannot deny them
The clouds cannot obscure them
Even the magenta and marmalade hues of the morning are simply the first
colors to reach my eyes, unbothered by the atmosphere, the down payment
on an azure day to come.
And when it comes it is transcendent.
Effortlessly luminescent.
The sun is here.
The day is now.
